What kind of Church is BCLC?

We believe the vision of the Church is simple and straightforward:

Bexley Christian Life Centre is a local expression of Jesus' Church - and we seek to fufill this vision that He gave.

But what do we want our Church to look like? We want our Church to be:

Biblical - 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The bible is the true word of God, written by people but God-breathed. Everything we do and say is based on objective biblical truth. The words of the bible are true for all time. The preaching and teaching of the word is an essential and irremovable part of any expression of Church.
Relational - John 13:35
How we love one another is how the Church is identified. We are part of a Church not to receive a service, but to build loving relationships. We want to go beyond the shallow "how are you" that so often is typical of our fast paced, modern life - we want to lay our lives down for each other, as Jesus did for us.
Powerful - 1 Corinthians 12:7
We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today. The gifts of the Spirit are to build up the Church, and we want to see them in evidence in - in our services, our small groups and our mission. We believe we will see prophesy, healing and miracles in evidence in the church today.
Fruitful - John 15:16
The purpose of the Church is to see fruit - to see those who are far away from Jesus brought near to Him. We believe in Jesus we have found eternal, abudant, whole and complete life - why wouldn't we want to share that with those around us? We want to be effective and powerful in bringing others to a saving knowledge of Jesus.
