PL9 is a youth forum with a dual purpose - to raise awareness of cardiac risk in the young and alongside that to raise funds for defibrillators in schools across Bexley, and also to empower and enable the young people within the forum to make positive decisions about their own future.
PL9 came about as a response to the tragic loss of Philip Lamin at the age of just 16, to an undiagnosed heart condition. His friends, shocked and devestated at their loss began meeting with his mother, Juliet, to talk about Philip and their bereavement. Out of this grew a desire to do something positive - and Juliet set herself a goal of placing a defribulator in every school in Bexley.
As the young people met with Juliet, they grew closer as a group and Juliet shared her faith with them - the group became a real agent for change in the lives of the young people. Juliet continues the work today, working with many of the young people's younger siblings.
Juliet is a member of BCLC, and we support her ministry to the young people, both financially and in prayer.
