For Over 65s
We have a number of groups for the over 65s.
Diamond Jubilee Club
Our exciting ‘Diamond Jubilee Club’, runs on the last Tuesday morning of every month at Upland Road, 10.30am-12.15pm. It is designed for the over 65s in our community who are lonely and isolated and looking for friendship and also those who experience memory loss. It is open to all who feel they would benefit from a morning of music and song, where professional artistes are sometimes invited alongside our Pastor Del and his wife Carol. We play hymns and entertain with songs from the shows, sing-a-longs, and melodies from the 40’s to the present day. Although music is used as reminiscence therapy it is simply for fun as well! The club can give carers a well-deserved break, but carers are also very welcome to attend. The team of volunteers provide simple crafts and there is always a chance for a chat over tea or coffee and homemade cakes. Prayer is offered to those who would benefit! The club is entirely free of charge.
Please note that due to ongoing rennovation works going on at Upland Road, Diamond Jubilee Club will be taking a short break. We are hoping to relaunch DJC in September. Please check our monthly bulletin, contact us or visit our facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
Cramond Court Service
Once a month we hold an evening service at Cramonde Court, a retirement home and sheltered housing development in Welling. This service is an opportunity to for the residents to meet one another, enjoy worshipping together and to hear a short message. This takes place on the second Wednesday of the month at 7pm.
Stone Court Service
Once a month, on the last Sunday of the month at 6pm, we visit Stone Court - a retirement home in Erith - where we hold meetings for the elderly. This is a time of encouraging those among the elderly who are Christians in their Christian faith and also reaching those who don't yet know Jesus with the good news.
